These are before and after photo’s by my sister Clare of the farm last week - recording the worst flooding since 1906. Crazy stuff.

It starts ridiculously early. 5am. Just as the sun splits the darkness of night, we set out through one neighbourhood of Pietermaritzburg, before diverting off the beaten track along some foot paths and farm roads, for 21km of running.

So herewith some proof I’ve been into more than Ben and Jerry’s. Gary and I were discussing seat height, and started probing around. Eventually we connected my new S-Works Epic to his CompuTrainer, which can measure watts. It’s been a narly week. Tough times. I’m actually faily exhausted. Since my return from Maui my totalled movie time is tenfold my training time, and my Ben and Jerry count exceeds my veggie intake.

Finally. Very rough and un-edited. Ruth was plenty better. I’ll improve, just bare with me. Thought no music allows you to hear some of the atmosphere at the event…
