Had the opportunity to be involved with some Speedo International catalogue images months ago. I think for catalogue. But dont know really – as I was just a whore, paid for services. Was a lengthy, repetitive and often freezing day. But I enjoyed the opportunity and the level of things. Well, the contrast between the scale of preparation and the unpredictable African element maybe more so. We arrived at the pool before 6am, to find a local Bellville Team build sleep over tainted by alcohol. Some sight for the British who represented head office. The photographer was sensational. Gavin is one of the hardest workers I’ve seen train in Stellenbosch and I have been following his  steady climb of the ITU ladder with interest, one from what I’d seen in Bosch, and two, as a triathlonteam partner. Congrats mate. Was great to see.

I am halfway dead, regretting my swine flu joking back in Vegas early May as it created a little panic and craze across the USA. I thought I was perhaps immune by now, and been on a good health streak for two years maybe. Alas. It has ended and I have never been this ill. Contracting Jaundice was close, but the past 48hours has been relentless.

Head is so sore. Body is so uncomfortable. Hot then hypothermia. What a mess.

I am bitterly disappointed, meant to travel to Brazil this week. Will call airlines in the morning and figure whats possible, but making peace that its not going to happen, not this time. Was really excited for it.
