“Alone - Racing the tide”

It’s been good. We’ve been killing time at the backpackers and will soon head off to Kei Mouth, an hour drive from here.

Did a semi long run last night, after rolling over yesterday morning to the sound of rain bucketing down as a cold front hit the Western Cape. But with the travel day light cut the run a few min short, but spending some time on the beach was magical. I’ve not run on the beach since Totalsports Challenge in Kleimnond.

And if last night and this morning’s run are anything to go by, the beach riding with be breath taking.

Max and I have been bumming with a crowd from the Bosch. A few guys who love the adventure. They’re humour and race approach, or lack of, has been refreshingly entertaining. Such good laughs.

But we’re feeling pressured. As the ‘racing horse’ in the group they’ve made it clear that ‘they would really enjoy it’ if Max and I could win… for them. We’ll see.  As mentioned yesterday the challenge of four days on a unmarked route is the real hard ask.

There were some crazy looking travelers here last night. Some who have arrived and never left…
