The morning after posting Virgin Active – Visual Abuse, I received an apologetic call from Virgin Life Care – the company who compose the In Motion newsletter on behalf of Virgin Active. I totally respect the professional manner in which they have dealt with me as a very insignificant entity compared to them. Apology accepted, and an admirer of their business sense gained.
Below a letter of apology:
Dear Dan,
On behalf of Virgin Life Care and Virgin Active we would like to offer you a sincere apology for the use of the image mentioned.
Virgin Life Care is responsible for generating Motion, the newsletter for Virgin Active members.
We, Virgin Life Care, commission a freelance copywriter /designer to write/design a piece called Wow! for the Motion newsletter. This copywriter/ designer supplied us with the finished article including the image in question which we had no reason to believe may infringe anybody’s rights. As a company with integrity, Virgin Life Care is taking this matter seriously and we are investigating how this came about so that it will not occur again in the future. In the meantime we have removed the article from the Motion newsletter which can be accessed through our website.
We regret that this situation has occurred and we apologise once again.
Yours sincerely,
Jean Collins
On behalf of Virgin Life Care
