Lately I’ve been trying to align function, stability and strength with aerobic ability. This after really interesting differences when running off the mountain bike in an Xterra versus running off the TT position in a half ironman. I’d lose range of motion and active control over pelvis and core from either being too tight or too weak or both.

It’s slow progress at the moment, but starting to feel great awareness and improvement.
For sure the closest I’ll be getting to American Football is on their turf doing some peculiar yoga-like embarrassment before marching like a soldier. If it helps, I’m in. Alas.

Hi Dan,
It’s always interesting to read what you are up to in terms of race preparation. For improving functional mobility, I recommend buying Joanne Elphinston’s book “Stability, Sport, and Performance Movement: Great Technique Without Injury”. It has plenty of useful explanations, a straightforward self-assessment section, and a highly effective 4-phase progression for improvement. I guarantee you no more tight back off the bike…
We are still based in Geneva, so give us a shout if ever you return to this part of the world.
All the best,
Guy
