Buffet Dinner at Moyo, Spier

February 14th, 2008 by Dan Hugo

I discovered  an excellent means to speedy post race recovery- Moyo’s Buffet spread at the Spier Wine Estate. There were tempting veggies, scrumptious salads, and out of the ordinary starches, but their appeal could not alter my meat pursuit. Ostrich skewers, oxtail potjie, venison fillets, and so forth and so forth. My legs felt recovered, in comparison to my exhausted stomach at least.

(Some un-beatable’s in the buffet line up)

Dinner was with Nikola Tosic (www.tosic.com and www.nekada.com) - my blogging guru, his misses and parents from Serbia, as well a friend. Ruth and myself were treated to an unforgettable night of fine wine, brilliant ‘bottomless food’ as well as live entertainment, from the African drummers and dancers, as well as Nikola’s theatrics trying to catch a gosling while feeding it.

Moyo is much more than dining, its an entire experience, of sight and sound that is truly South African.

Your face is painted somewhere through the night…

The reason for my stomach hurting the next morning…

As I arrived home from My Durban - Cape Town flight, a Specializedspecial delivery found a home of its own. A non-retail, sponsored athlete only, make a statement tt helmet.

(I took it to Moyo to show Nikola)
