Had the privilege of accompanying a friend as glorified drivers to what is a Matric Farewell, the South African version of a prom last weekend. Crazy to fathom my baby sister being in her final months at school. I did well to withhold the Bad Boys II ‘date’ interrogation of the lad, and did no more than a firm assertive hand shake…

(Riaan and I – driving ms Daisy crazy in the vintage Merc)
Clare looked stunning. In a dress she helped design with Jonine Nel – my neighbour who I did the golf range post on last year.

(My baby sister)
It’s an all day and all night affair, with photo’s, pre-drinks, function, after party, etc. Riaan had organised a vintage Mercedes from a friend for the occasion, which looked the part to the t. He brought his own little portable radio along, as the car’s one resembled something from the 1800′s.

(Sunset on route to pre-drinks)
It was a near perfect sunset across the Breede River Valley. One I’ve seen many times as a kid as I’d finish most my days training at dusk, as I still do now… Occasionally the last session would even be after dinner on the farm.

(Without any photoshop enhancements!)
Family are down by two, with my older sister in New Zealand, and the middle one on an exchange to Vermont in the US.

(Family – Clare, father, mother, and myself)
Riaan and his family stayed on the farm for four years, and so his kids are like an extention of my own siblings. If not seen often enough its like meeting new kids each time at the rate they’re growing. Special people.

(Anja and Christiaan – Sister and brother once removed type thing)

Ok, Ruth get the clippers out and shave Dan’s head when he gets to Truckee. Man your looking a bit unkept, lol. I guess there hasn’t been many photo shoots lately, eh?
Haha Justin! I like it long! What you mean unkept!
Just a little shaggy compared to the style I witnessed in June.
