Comedy or tragedy?

Been fascinating to follow some of the politcal circus in the USA over the past month. Watched some clips earlier this evening, including The Daily Show and what not, even some Chris Rock commentary, all mainly at the expense of Sarah Palin. Please take the time to watch these clips. Look forward to some comments if you will… This election, and its outcome, will effect us all to some measure.

Hmmm….well, I guess you can really see how the media is democratically driven. First, I guess you can go back to the question that was asked by Katie. I had to listen to it three times to really make sense of it. Confusing questions invite confusing answers. Granted, Palin did stumble over words but you try to answer the question. Listen to it again.

Secondly, I’d like to be the first to say that if Obama wins this election through his campaign of “change” and fails to “change” a thing, it will be Bush’s fault, everything will be Bush’s fault. You don’t see Bush blaming all the previous Presidents for our national debt, which we all know is a group (congress and all these other ridiculous government committees and organizations that sign off on it) effort. I’m sure this bail-out package will be a republicans fault. Mark my word Obama with his lack of experience will place the blame on someone else.

In a time when our country is in a war against terrorism, do you want someone who’s literally fault battles or do you want someone that would crumble under pressure but oh my he speaks well.

So one might say well Biden has all this experience. Well, let me ask who’s running for President Biden or Obama? Obama is a very well spoken man but he has a ton of people brainwashed. I just think it’s funny that the Demo’s have to come up with comedy bits to overshadow their lack of experience in a candidate.

I will say that I’m not comfortable with voting for either candidate but given the choice between these two, give me the military background not the good speaker. Talking only gets you so far in government. We need action.

    Justin
The question really wasn’t confusing, and what does health care reform have to do with the bailout. Are we really thinking that this woman is qualified to be the VP? Considering her lack of education and experience maybe the question was confusing to her.

How anyone can support her is crazy. She believes in limiting women’s rights (abstinence only-we can see how well that worked with her knocked up 17 year old unwed daughter). She doesn’t support a raped women’s right to chose.

She got her sister’s ex-husband fired from his job as a state trouper just because she didn’t like him.

She tried to censor books in the library in her home town.

Republicans criticize Obama for not having enough experience, but then they pick Palin. She never had a passport or traveled outside of the country until 2007. She thinks that she has foreign policy smarts because of “Russia’s proximity to Alaska” and “we keep an eye on them”. REALLY!!

She also seems incapable of church and state. Just watch this Youtube clip
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LS_VduCWhzM&feature=related

It’s God’s will that we drill the crap out of Alaska and mess up the environment. I am sure that is what God had in mind. Drill baby drill!

Even better war in Iraq is God’s plan according to Palin

You will have freedom of religion in the US only if it is Palin’s religion.

So please people don’t just vote for her because she is a woman. Can we really afford this as VP and possibly President?

I want a President that salutes the American flag when it is raised.

So, we’re stuck with the Governor of Alaska that might not speak very well. How’s Alaska’s economy? I haven’t heard any reports that the Alaskan economy just tanked. Does Biden have any experience running a state while raising a family. Biden couldn’t even turn on a calculator or spell economy for that matter.

I’m sure all of our parents had complete control over us when we were young right? Let’s not talk about those skeletons right? Rape is a seperate issue besides just the simple free wheel to just go get an abortion just because a “human” was conceived. Oh but “practice” safe sex.

What women’s rights are you talking about? If you can tell me one thing that women can’t do, because of government, that men can I’ll shut up. Women can vote, drive, get a job, etc. What else is there? Now, whether those rights are abused sometimes that’s another story. I’m sure I have been discriminated against at sometime just because of my personality but you don’t see me forming a committee for blunt, white, spike haired Louisianians. Women have all the rights men have.

Since you don’t think we should drill in Alaska, then where? Do you really think that everyone can just get rid of their gas consuming cars and convert to “clean” energy. What is clean energy anyways, besides wind (that’s still polluted)? Have you seen a car that runs off wind? What about the processes a battery (for battery powered cars) goes through to reach the shelf…..polution? I’m all about finding clean ways to commute but outside of a bike (welding rods to build the bikes burn off gases), what “clean” is there. Maybe I could walk 30 miles one way to work? She’s doing the best she can to keep from supporting terrorist groups and supporting the “American” economy.

If you listen to the second youtube video (your videos) she’s asking them to pray that we are doing God’s will in Iraq. There’s nothing wrong with questioning what God’s will is. She wasn’t saying that we are doing God’s will over there, she asked to pray for it.

I don’t know the context of these two speeches. Was she invited to speak about her campaign? I’m sure they weren’t just like…..hey Palin would you come preach to us and she just slipped her campaign spill right in middle of this God centered speech….very doubtful. I’ve had politicians come speak at my church but only because they were invited to make that speech.

Lets not get into the gender/race discussion, that has know place in this. Credentials only please.

Don’t interpret what I’m saying. I’m just posting fact. Who isn’t saluting the flag? Who is declaring herself a prophet? I haven’t defended or supported Obama in my attack on Palin. I’m just attacking McCain’s choice of running mate. She’s such an easy target.

    From Sarah Palin’s speech

“God’s will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas pipeline built”

When did God say that a pipeline had to be built? Is Sarah a prophet or can you give me the Bible verse where this is written.

Bombing Iraq is God’s will? You say she is asking us to pray that his will is being done, but moments before uttering that she said,
“OUR LEADERS ARE SENDING THEM OUT ON A TASK THAT IS FROM GOD”
then she goes on to ask us to pray.
Interpret that quote how you will. Maybe I’m wrong. God came to Sarah in a vision and told her that is was his will being done. I must have missed that in Bible study.

By the way you might want to watch the movie Who Killed the Electric Car. I’m not saying don’t drill, but I am saying we need alternative and to conserve. My car gets 40+mpg and I commute by bike frequently. Most modern cars get 20ish mpg, and there is no conserving. People in America drive the biggest cars they can afford. Only recently with gas prices being high do we see people downsizing. Oil WILL run out someday. I don’t know when, but shouldn’t we be responsible about the planet and take care of it for future generations to come. So go ahead drill in the Alaska Wildlife refuge and get enough barrels of oil from there to support our gas greed for 1 extra year. Does it really matter in the long term?

Finally whether a political rally or a church, she is telling us that this is what God wants us to do. When did she become a prophet? We are supposed to separate church and state.
You can watch the entire video

How is she qualified? What education does she have? She governs a state with less population than most cities. She cost the town she governed more money and higher taxes because of her poor decision making about building a hockey rink.

Alaska’s economy good? Well they have a budget surplus because they take more money from the federal government than any other state.

Alaska receives nearly twice as much federal dollars than they contribute to federal income, making it one of the largest beneficiary states. They receive the highest per capita federal dollars and 3rd highest total fed dollars.

If Alaska’s economy is doing so great how come they take out twice as much money as they contribute?

The more I look the more scary stuff I find……

If you were raped would you like to be able to make a decision about your own body, or would you like to have someone tell you what has to be done?

Are you also supporting her trying to censor books in the town library? When does it stop? Shouldn’t we be allowed debate and free thought?

No matter how much dirt we throw, fact or false, we have two choices for President, no matter running mate: Obama or McCain. I choose McCain.

What qualifications does one need to run for Vice President, so should there be a test you take? Would you have picked Bill Gates to build one of the largest software companies in the world? He didn’t finish college. Education is only as good as its beholder.

As for the rape issue, I admit, for me personally, that’s a hard line for me. The only thought that I have on that is, though the avenue of conception is gross and indecent, this human is part of the mother as well. That’s my thoughts. Whether right or wrong there is human life conceived. I stand against abortion because of the ease for the casual user, those that “accidentally” got pregnant. That’s wrong. Do I have facts on this verses that, absolutely not, that’s where I stand personally.

Censored books….to me, has nothing to do being a Vice President, just some petty demo dirt.

    Since we’re throwing dirt:

Read “Early Life and Education”- Obama has a great alternative to Palin. I guess if you don’t know you plagiarize, right?

Let’s have us a good old fashioned book burning!

Another issue with rape victims is she also made policy while in Wasilla that women has to pay for their own rape kits which cost up to $1000. She is anti-women. She has also cut funding for single mothers, teen mothers, and shelters. So have your rapists baby, we will charge you to get evidence, and we won’t help with the costs to raise the child.

Thankfully a law was passed in the US to prevent women being charged for a rape kit. Alaska was the last state to comply, and strangely enough Wasilla was the city that was not complying.

McCain has a good record with supporting women’s issues, equal pay, and rights, but he made a bad decision with his running mate choice. The preliminary polls are saying the same. When he first announced her there was great support, but as people find out more information about Palin the support is declining.
