Frantic Flying

Departure lounge at Cape Town International: 1800. And today felt like 1800 long hours. If I said it was chaotic today, I’d be being complementary to my lack of orderly anticipation to the start of Ruth and my all too exciting 10week venture. The final hurdle was trying to lighten my 39kg bike bag (two bikes, and few bits and pieces) to the 32kg max allowance per item. I had to buy a new bag, and fill it with a bubble wrapped helmet, – which weighs nothing as its the Specialized 2D – the lightest helmet in the world, as well as some heavier spare tires for race days. Managed. So here it is. Some 30hours of travel. After 1800 long hours, with enough excitement to face it all… Bon Voyage.
