Dinner with Friends

I did more celebration than I should have on the 3rd, so didnt really get out on the 4th… There is a 7/11 just round the corner, close enough for a Ben and Jerry’s fix at 9pm (twice the Safeway price though – but at 9pm desperation governs price). So on one such guilty night, I walk in, grab a Verizon Organic 2% half gallon of milk, and march over the the Ben and Jerry fridge. Blocking the all important decision time view was a very indecisive couple, but with the same half gallon of milk…

After voicing my recommendations (freely) they must have been intrigued but someone with foreign accent and bizarre 2XU compression socks up to the knees buying the same two items, so the conversation initiated. Anyhow, finally made it over to theirs for dinner on Friday… A great dinner discussing culture and religion, dreams and happiness, travel and chance encounters.

After which we tempted town. Starting with 1920′s swing at Bar of America.

Bar of America

Before scouting the block party outside Casa Baeza – Loved the vibe but couldnt do the Mexican dance routine.

Mexican Block Party

A quick feel at Moody’s for some Jazz, which was too mellow. Like needing a cigar and congnac.

Moody's Jazz

Down the main drag was from bad to worse, with local karaoke – thankfully no photo.

Curbside Coldplay

And even got a little added flavour on the side walk. Think Annie made his night…

Hope all you Americans had good celebrations.
