Spent two incredible days in Johannesburg. As much as the glitz and glamour, the fast paced life and visible wealth of Joburg’s opportunities were appealing, the traffic and harsh feel of a proper city was equally repulsive. But its the financial hub of Southern Africa, and world far removed from my own. Two days, two contracts, two sensational opportunities.
Met some great people along the way, and really enjoyed that side of my time there. The networking and interacting with the energy there. Even got to catch up with Jacques Theron, a friend of mine who made the effort to meet for a great dinner and few drinks. Got to know his misses, who’s just qualified for Beijing 2008 in sprint paddling, a small bit. Her excitement was near tangible and pretty inspiring.
One of the families I had the opportunity to bum a bed with, had three adorable youngsters. They were such a joy. Had to take a clip of the outfit, which was dawned with abundant excitement. Robot effect.

He could hardly move, but was in his element suspended in there.

(Three eyes and a big smile)
I so look forward to sharing the news when the dust settles and all is confirmed. But the past two days were a milestone in my short journey. Perhaps even just the beginning.
Drove down from Joburg today, and in Natal at present. Have a two day shoot here for Jeep Apparel’s summer range. Feeling a little pale and soft around the edges, but looking forward to something different.
