Puma - the most desired in Sportlifestyle

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Photography by Verster Cohen - a photographer’s blog worth scouting. These are some visuals from the studio time with Puma earlier this year - before the crash that is… Such that I was still able to bounce about off a trampoline with boyish pleasure. A big privilege working with and representing Puma in South Africa, [...]

Garmin Commercial

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

About to go mountain biking in Jonkershoek, 3.5 hours on an undulating course. Sun’s out again - I’d have bouycott otherwise. Will have my Garmin Edge 705 navigating as I roll along. Nearly as essential to me as to Napoleon in the this ad…

2XU Wetsuits in South Africa

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

As mentioned in 101 Randoms I am really excited to start a relationship with 2XU South Africa. They’ll supply me with wetsuit, swim suit, and compression gear as needed. Its an Australian based company focusing on triathlonspecific needs. I’ve been blown away by the shoulder flexibility and mobility, which feel totally un-restrictive, as well as the [...]

Team Barloworld is fueled by USN

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

A big deal for USN (Ulitmate Sports Nutrition) and a big step forward to securing a foothold on the global market front for a company started in a garage in South Africa. I’m proudly a part of their campaign.

Broken man’s short report

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

A great start to the year! Had a strong day from gun to tape, in near perfect conditions, with more support than anyone could need. Body responded really well earlier, but fading on me now, and a proper race report will have to wait for the morn…

Ultimate Sports Nutrition Photo’s

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

A small collection of photo’s for USN’s use from last week’s shoot. Still raw, needing to be cropped and photoshop’d… but here is a feel of what we were chasing. Slightly more action orientated and dynamic than static posed images.

Puma Sailing Range - Volvo Ocean Race

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

Puma are launching one of their most ambitious campaigns in 2008, entering a Puma boat into the Volvo Ocean Race, being their official merchandise supplier, as well as creating an unique and stunning sailing lifestyle range. I had the privilege of attending the launch in Cape Town yesterday, and walked away feeling I’m into the [...]

Research & Development = Specialized Bikes

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

Gabe Sullens from Specialized head quarters was brilliant in opening my eyes to the insane research and development that goes into each Specialized product, from top end bikes, to inner soles of shoes. Their attention to fine detail, as developed by riders for riders, is the best in the world. Pioneers. What else is there [...]

New Multisport Kit

Probable new kit, which I’m hoping to have finalised this week:

Puma Box - Province vs Sharks

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Cracked the nod to the Puma Box at Newlands for the Western Province vs Sharks Currie Cup clash yesterday. Sure was rugby spectating with a difference, and dare admit I enjoyed the finger foods more than the game itself. A treat meeting some of the Puma staff in a more social context too.

A week in review

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

I feel a little like Alice in Wonderland, trying to see how far her fairyland will go, or a little like Neo in The Matrix, being asked if curious how deep the rabbit hole goes. It has been an upside down week from some script to good to be my own.
Making my way down from [...]

Jeep Apparel summer range

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

Jeep Apparel had their summer range shoot over the past two days in Giba Gorge just outide Durban. The look and feel or the new stuff is young, trendy, classy, and going to impact strongly. Excited to see it go out. Be sure to check on it over the next month or two.

Milestones

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

Spent two incredible days in Johannesburg. As much as the glitz and glamour, the fast paced life and visible wealth of Joburg’s opportunities were appealing, the traffic and harsh feel of a proper city was equally repulsive. But its the financial hub of Southern Africa, and world far removed from my own. Two days, two contracts, [...]

Media Shoot

Friday, March 16th, 2007

Conrad Stoltz, Lieuwe Boonstra, and myself were asked to muck about on bikes for some media to use in Xterra SA build up. Unsure how I cracked the nod, but was a good laugh fooling around with the two athletes I finished third to at my first Xterra 4 years ago as a junior.
