Paul Roos vs Grey 2007
August 18th, 2007 by Dan HugoWatched some of the excitement this weekend, while enjoying seeing some old school friends partying it up around the games. Must have been 15 000 plus people attending the main rugby game at the Markotter Stadium in Stellenbosch. The spirit and heritage there is hard if not impossible to explain. But really enjoyed all.
Started at the hockey last night, tightly fought till Grey put one in the back of the net with ten minutes to go, after being on the attack for much of the game. Deserved. Brilliant atmosphere and top notch hockey it seemed for my unskilled eye. Thereafter was lucky to sneak into the v.i.p. area at the water polo, as the indoor pool space was packed, and many had to turn away. Electrifying game, a first for me. Couldnt follow all the in’s and out’s, but could follow enough to appreciate a Grey thrashing, with Paul Roos going 18-4 up.
The main game belonged to Grey though, who dominantly out played Paul Roos’ finest. Had forgotten just how emotional the lads are for the moment, and brought back many special memories. This moment would be the climax of their schooling career.

Was also great seeing Puma so well represented, with their sponsorship of all Paul Roos first teams.
