Puma Concept Store - V&A Waterfront
November 30th, 2007 by Dan Hugo
Puma South Africa have launched three concept stores this past year, one in Canal Walk, one in Soweto, and the final launch for the year was in the new ‘fashion wing’ at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. There are some parts of their ranges that are store exclusives and worth getting to a Puma store for, but generally I believe a concept store to represent a brand in an uninhibited way and to have a true Puma Experience, their store are worth getting to.

Was a fun evening of cocktails, eccentric snacks, discounted sales on the hottest trends, and a show by Max Normal, who is anything but normal. DJ Craig de Souza was in the mix before and after the nutter Max Normal. Check out his site, he’s hilarious.

Personally, the night’s star was Craig Native.Far out. He’s such a persona. An aura surrounds the designer, who has worked for and dressed the likes of Lenny Kravitz. He’s the man. Puma South Africa have collaborated with him on a range.

Stayed in Cape Town with my godfather, to do an interview for one of my past races yesterday morning in Melkbos Strand with Bigshot Productions.

(A bit odd doing a ‘post race interview’ a few days on…)

Had another function to represent Puma at earlier tonight, at Canal Walk at the launch of the new Sportsmans Warehouse. Interesting mingling with various brand managers and media representatives all wanting their share of shelf space. Retail seems to be a crazy world. A treat to be there and hear of their evolving ideas as a company.
