Gabe Sullens from Specialized head quarters was brilliant in opening my eyes to the insane research and development that goes into each Specialized product, from top end bikes, to inner soles of shoes. Their attention to fine detail, as developed by riders for riders, is the best in the world. Pioneers. What else is there to ride?

This was my favourite for the day, the 2008 Transition, for triathlons and TT’ing. The attention to fine detail, the level or scientific wind tunnel research, is mind numbing. Not only the sexiest bike I’ve seen, but a revolutionary piece of equipment. “The shit that kills”.
