Have a read: My interview with Jeff is on the page, just scroll down… Big thanks Jeff. Will see you in Truckee.
(During one of today’s snacks - discovered dried pomegranate arils - so delicious. Ever had?)
Great mention on the newsletter sent out by Xterra Planet this morning:
Trusting it wont be the last for the season…
Had the privilege of doing some time with Gary Perkin last week - during a Specialized training camp… Sensational stuff by Gary. So mellow - yet captures too much.
Morning. Hope you’re started out better then mine with the linger of an exquisite Chardonay Pinot Noir last night at some live Blues by Gerald Clark and his band at the local Lebanese spot in town. I had one glass of sophistication, five water after, and could still feel back of my skull this morning. [...]
Been a great week back in thin Sierra Nevada air - settling training and bio-rhythms after 10days on the Midwest trail. It will take most of the 10days here to adapt to the lessened oxygen effect before heading North to Idaho next Thursday. More exciting back home was the finalizing of a new dreamGiver in [...]
Dylan spotted a photo of myself by Gary Perkin, on Specialized.com this week - a visual from Jonkershoek during the Specialized tire testing in January. Goes without saying its a website I’ve visited continually over the years and to be a part of it, despite just by random chance, is such a kick for me. [...]
My aunt forwarded the Motion newsletter by Virgin Active to myself last week, with a cropped edited version of myself in a copy righted Rich Cruse photo from Xterra USA Finals at Lake Tahoe. I can only believe the photo, for South African media at least, was taken from my blog post in January, before [...]
A small coup for all involved - the Dream Givers, supporters, blog readers, training partners, and multisport peers. Many thanks to all, including Angus for the stellar article. Am so properly grateful for this, the most significant media to date. Please find a copy, on shelves from this weekend.
4:40am: The dreaded alarm sound after a restless night of shallow slumber. Time to “rise and shine”, get the lenses in (else I’m blind as a bat), and stumble down the Pretoria home of my cousin Marcus.
4:55am: I showered. Had to. Feel more alive if I do. But now I’m late, forcing some Woolworths muesli [...]
Life seems such a roller coaster at times. Should arguably try to embrace and enjoy that? Just got to the accomofation in Sabie after a lengthy day of travel. Brilliant to be here. Despite the rain bucketing down. Mud bath tomorrow for sure.
Scratched another vehicle while attempting a parking yesterday. While my drivers licence had [...]
Max mailed me some photo’s yesterday taken at a random pharmacy in Kloof somewhere. Great to see USN - my nutrition sponsor - using me in their campaigns. A real privilege. Especially when its life size…
Watch the video clip below of the opening event at Albert Falls of the 2008 Jeep Msinsi Multisport event two weeks back…

A few days before the Xterra in Grabouw I was cornered into some photo’s and demonstrations for GQ. The results of which my baby sister had to ‘extract’ from the magazine so that my mother could see it without having to face all the ‘answers’ to ‘gentleman’s questions’…

I dont know how I got onto this list, nor why she kept me on after my rushed response, but really grateful for the mention in this Lifestyle article on iafrica.com. Read the “Movers and shakers” article for some South African inspiration.
Managed to roll out of bed this morning in time to join the Truckee Donner Masters Swim Squad - at 6:45am… Mounting my bike to get there signaled the end of the euphoric post race feelings. Body loosened a bit after though, and managed a long run in the evening with Gia.
(Running at Temecula - [...]
Thanks for making it a memorable week…

Stumbled upon my USN (home) profile page a moment ago. Always good to be reminded of things I’ve said…
