Napped out on the 630am flight and had a magic evening with my mother and sister cooking up a storm - so a full report remains procrastinated. Hoping you checked the Twitter feed though and simply waiting for the fine detail. In the mean time, here’s a funky clip of how I spent yesterday morning…
Received this awesome note today. Means the world to me. Thanks for sending it mate, and cheers to many more. Congrats.
“Hello Dan
Firstly, congratulations on winning TC this weekend. You are definitely setting the bar and it is job well done.
I also need to thank you for introducing me to TC. I read about it on your website about a year ago and thought that, being a paddler who can also run and bike a fair bit, that this will be an enjoyable challenge to train for and take part in.
So yesterday morning at 5am I found myself standing underneath the Jeep - banner at Pollyshorts Spar filled with a mix of nerves and excitement. It turned out to be one the best races of my life. I followed your advice on the website, paced myself from start to finish and enjoyed the views of the valley (which is spectacular, especially with a race blur to it!).
Even though the body is hurting today quite a bit, I am already considering what race will be next.
Thank you for being a great ambassador for multisport in South Africa. Good luck with your training. I really do hope it pays off at Xterra Worlds next year.
Keep well”
More tomorrow… Loved the event, and real positive on how the body handled. Back to the grind stone…
