When catching up with Amber this week who’s just arrived from Reno, Nevada, a stone’s through from Truckee (Wikipedia) where Ruth and I will be based in four weeks time for 7 weeks, she enquired when we were heading over. In response to our 23rd April answer she insisted we shoud go skiing…

The photo’s have been sent to me from Gary Mandy, my coach based in Truckee, which he took while out on a long ride on the weekend. I think it may have been in an attempt to calm my now unable to sleep peacefully concerns with photo’s of melting snow. Mmm mmm. Thats going no where in four weeks I reckon.

Much of my riding, especially at first, will have to be on the road, and as more trails become ridable, the insanely good mountain biking will start. It was mindblowing the amount of great trails to ride and run on around Truckee last year. As if singletrack was on tap.

I better start shopping for some warmer training gear. It really excites me to be honest. Perhaps that excitement will melt with the first step of my Puma’s in melting snow, but I look forward to something different and new.
