Last year’s photo – in a different body… »

Xterra Alabama Course scouting

Posted on by Dan Hugo

Spent the day out at Oak Mountain Park going over the course, lounging under oak shade with the misses, attending a small Xterra media gig, and having a moment at the spot of my crash last year breaking my left scaphoid.

(The hump I crashed at last year – I had a moments silence here…)

It was great to get out and spin the legs, stretch out the arms, and push my Puma’s up and down some bumpy as running trail. The ride is going to be fast, maybe 1:03ish. With business being done on a loose 15min drag to the top of the course after about 35min of riding. But the decisive race play may well happen on a run leg lengthened by 2km from last year’s course. Its a viscous run in anyone’s book, starting out flat, and ending with a few ‘compulsary walks’ on steep and loose terrain. The course in all is stunning though, breathtaking sights deep in the Oak forests, and if anything, suits me as well as any. So a positive day at play.
